The editorial office of Ethnohistory invites submissions of article manuscripts of 7,000-11,000 words, including endnotes and references. The article manuscript should be prefaced with a brief abstract of 100-150 words and a list of 3-5 keywords, all in a single Word file. Please remove your name and any other identifying information. Manuscripts should be prepared according to the “Ethnohistory Style Guide,” and The Chicago Manual of Style, eighteenth edition. Double-space the lines in each manuscript (including extracts, notes, and references).
Please read Duke University Press’s “Ethics and Policies for Journals,” especially the section titled “Originality and the Use of AI.” The use of generative AI must be disclosed in your manuscript in order for it to be published in Ethnohistory.
Please visit https://mc04.manuscriptcentral.com/dup-eth to submit a manuscript to be considered for publication. You will be asked to enter the abstract and keywords as part of the submission process. All images, large tables, and other supporting materials will be uploaded as separate files.
Ethnohistory has a double-blind manuscript review policy, with the exception of forums and special issues. Members of the editorial board, as well as the associate editors, advise the editors both on specific manuscripts and on editorial policy.
