Student Travel Grants

The Society will provide a limited number of small grants to help defray travel expenses for graduate students to present papers at the annual meeting and present papers; these may vary in amount but will generally not exceed $500.

The award is only open to those students who have already had their papers accepted by the program committee. Applicants should be Society members, but do not have to be admitted to Ph.D. candidacy.

The selection committee will consider the quality of the research and the ethnohistorical focus of the topic, based on a letter of support accompanying this application. Preference will be given to those applicants who have not previously been awarded an ASE Student Travel Grant.

You can now download the student travel grant application forms in Microsoft Word or PDF format.
