TRAVEL INFORMATION / HOW TO GET THERE The program organizers of this year's meetings in Williamsburg, Virginia look forward to welcoming you in November. You may find the following information useful in making your travel plans.

Coming By Air Three airports serve the Williamsburg Area. Richmond International Airport is 40 miles west of Williamsburg, and is generally the most convenient. The smaller Patrick Henry Airport is 15 miles to the east, and Norfolk International Airport about 45 miles east of Williamsburg. Norfolk Airport is only accessible through a tunnel that is often backed up. Coming from Richmond Airport there is a shuttle bus called Groome Transportation, which is about $25; a taxi will cost between $75-100, whilst all the regular car rental firms (budget, enterprise, national) also have desks in the terminal.
Coming by Train Amtrak has two trains to Williamsburg each day, linked through Norfolk, Richmond, and Washington DC.
Coming by Car Williamsburg is a 3 hour drive from Washington DC, and about 1 hour from the city of Richmond to the west, and 1 hour and fifteen minutes from Norfolk, Virginia. From Washington, follow I-95 south to I-295 east to 64 east towards Norfolk. Take exit 238, and follow the signs for the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center. From Norfolk follow 64 west towards Richmond. Take exit 238 and follow the signs towards the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center.
