Article Submission Guidelines

The editorial office of Ethnohistory invites submissions of article manuscripts of 6,000 to 9,000 words, including end notes and references. The article should be prefaced with a brief abstract; all text should be in a single Word file. In the case of forums, all papers must be submitted together. Individual papers in a forum may be shorter than the 6,000 word minimum.

Authors should submit copies of all graphic images along with the text. These may be of low resolution; however, authors are solely responsible for obtaining high-resolution files and permission to publish them, including in electronic form, should their paper be accepted for publication.

The manuscript should have the author’s name removed, but should be accompanied by a separate Word file containing the article title, author’s name, and complete contact information (address, phone, email, and summer contact details if relevant).

In submitting a manuscript for consideration, the author acknowledges that the work contained therein is his or her own and that no part of it has been previously published or is under consideration for publication elsewhere. Any necessary written permission for the use of material is to be obtained by the author.

Ethnohistory has a double-blind manuscript review policy, with the exception of forums and special issues.
